2 John 4-9 / Luke 17:26-37

Today, the evangelist Luke presents Jesus speaking about the days of the Son of Man, about the day when the Son of Man is revealed. These are expressions that refer to the second coming of Jesus Christ, at the end of time, robed with power and glory to judge the living and the dead.

Life will continue as normal, as on any other day. But only those who are prepared, that is, who are in the Grace of God, doing the Will of God, practicing love, will be saved and will be with Christ in Heaven. The rest of the people will die, just as those who did not enter Noah's ark died, just as those who, unlike Lot, did not leave Sodom died.

Salvation is a serious matter. It does not depend solely on God. God does His part, but if we want to be saved, we have to do our part too, doing the Will of God, practicing love.

In today’s world, we must warn people about the need to convert immediately, so that they do not die, so that they may live, so that they may be saved, so that they may be with Christ in Heaven.

In his second letter, the apostle John reminds a woman about the commandment of love, which means living according to the commandments of God the Father.

John warns them about people who do not abide in the doctrine of Christ, who do not confess that Christ became incarnate, contrary to the teaching of the apostles.

These people are everywhere and their speech is very seductive. But, in order to possess, to know God the Father and God the Son, it is necessary to abide in the doctrine of the apostles.

Also in today’s world, especially on the Internet, on social networks, there are many people who teach false things about God, about the Holy Trinity, about faith, completely different from what the Church teaches. We must not exchange the teaching of the Church for the teaching of these people.

And if we are going to transmit our faith to others, then we must do so in accordance with the doctrine of the Church, which is very well summarized in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It is worth acquiring and studying it.
